We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Science Technician to join welcoming and well-resourced secondary schools across Merton on a full-time, five-days-per-week basis. The Role
As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Science Department to deliver engaging and safe practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessons
Ensuring laboratories are safe, clean, and fully compliant with health and safety regulations
Managing and maintaining scientific equipment and stock
Supporting teachers during practical activities when required
Organising and ordering resources efficiently
Contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the department
Requirements
Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a secondary school setting
Strong subject knowledge across the sciences
A relevant degree (preferred)
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented approach
Strong understanding of health and safety procedures within a laboratory environment
