Science Technician (Full-Time, 5 Days per Week)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Science Technician to join welcoming and well-resourced secondary schools across Merton on a full-time, five-days-per-week basis. The Role

As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Science Department to deliver engaging and safe practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessons

  • Ensuring laboratories are safe, clean, and fully compliant with health and safety regulations

  • Managing and maintaining scientific equipment and stock

  • Supporting teachers during practical activities when required

  • Organising and ordering resources efficiently

  • Contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the department

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a secondary school setting

  • Strong subject knowledge across the sciences

  • A relevant degree (preferred)

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

  • A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented approach

  • Strong understanding of health and safety procedures within a laboratory environment
