About the Role

As Premises Manager, you will take full responsibility for the operational management, maintenance, safety, and security of the school site. You will play a key role in ensuring the school environment is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose, supporting both students and staff in achieving excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the school premises and grounds

  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory requirements

  • Manage site security, including opening and closing procedures

  • Coordinate and supervise contractors and site staff

  • Lead on planned preventative maintenance and capital improvement projects

  • Monitor site budgets and manage procurement of services and supplies

  • Act as the main point of contact for premises-related matters

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Premises Manager within a school or similar environment

  • Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation, compliance, and facilities management

  • Experience managing contractors, maintenance schedules, and site teams

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership

  • A relevant degree is preferred
