Full-Time School Counsellor - Secondary Schools (5 Days per Week)

We are seeking a dedicated, full-time School Counsellor to work across secondary schools in Croydon. This is an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming and supportive school environment that truly values student wellbeing and professional development.
The Role
As a School Counsellor, you will:
Provide one-to-one and small group counselling sessions to secondary-aged students
Support pupils experiencing emotional, behavioural, or mental health challenges
Work collaboratively with safeguarding leads, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and senior leadership
Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with safeguarding policies
Contribute to the wider wellbeing strategy within the school
This is a five-day-per-week position, offering consistency, stability, and the opportunity to build strong therapeutic relationships with students.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Proven experience working as a School Counsellor (essential)
Strong subject knowledge in adolescent mental health and therapeutic approaches
Experience working within secondary school settings
A recognised counselling qualification (degree preferred)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
