Job Description

Site Supervisor (Part-Time)

Location: BB2 Area, Blackburn

Hours: Monday - Friday, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM (20 hours per week)

Pay: £18.50 per hour

Are you a proactive "handyperson" who takes pride in keeping a community space safe, functional, and welcoming? We are looking for a reliable and skilled Site Supervisor to join our primary school team.

This is a vital role ensuring our school environment remains a top-tier place for children to learn. You'll be the go-to person for keeping the wheels turning during the afternoon and ensuring the site is secure at the end of the day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-Day Maintenance: Handling general repairs and upkeep tasks as they arise.

  • Site Compliance: Managing deliveries and logistics (including Evri and other couriers) and ensuring all health and safety documentation is up to date.

  • Plumbing & Facilities: Dealing with urgent issues such as unblocking toilets or minor leaks.

  • Mechanical Repairs: Occasional technical fixes, such as repairing broken radiators or basic carpentry/painting.

  • Waste Management: Oversight of general porterage and waste removal across the site.

  • Security: Responsible for the formal "locking up" procedure, ensuring all windows, doors, and gates are secure before finishing your shift.

What We're Looking For

  • The "Fix-It" Factor: You should be comfortable using tools and have a solid understanding of basic plumbing, heating systems, and general DIY.

  • Reliability: As the person responsible for locking the school, punctuality and a high sense of responsibility are non-negotiable.

  • Communication: You'll be interacting with staff, visitors, and delivery drivers, so a friendly and professional manner is essential.

  • Safety First: An understanding of school health and safety protocols (though training will be provided).

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive Pay: A leading rate of £18.50 per hour.

  • Consistent Hours: Perfect for those looking for afternoon work that fits around other morning commitments.

  • Community Impact: You'll be a valued member of the school family, directly contributing to the safety and happiness of our pupils.
