SEN Teaching Assistant - South Birmingham

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs-such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language needs or learning difficulties-helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEN
  • Using tailored strategies to remove learning barriers
  • Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo
  • Assisting with EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children with SEN (school or care setting)
  • A calm, nurturing and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliability and a genuine passion for inclusive education
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Relevant training (e.g., Team Teach, Autism Awareness) is beneficial but not essential
