SEN Teaching Assistant - South Birmingham

💼 Contract: Full-time | Long-term (potential for permanent placement)
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs-such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language needs or learning difficulties-helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEN
- Using tailored strategies to remove learning barriers
- Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo
- Assisting with EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils
- Promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting children with SEN (school or care setting)
- A calm, nurturing and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability and a genuine passion for inclusive education
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Relevant training (e.g., Team Teach, Autism Awareness) is beneficial but not essential
