Primary SEND Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a warm, welcoming, and inclusive primary school in Enfield to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible.
This role is ideal for someone who has experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as ASD, ADHD, and SEMH within a mainstream primary setting. The school is looking for a patient, proactive individual who is passionate about helping children thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
Support children with additional learning, communication, and emotional needs
Help implement individual education and behaviour support plans
Work with the class teacher to adapt lessons and activities to meet pupils' needs
Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and parents/carers
Requirements
Previous experience supporting primary-aged pupils with SEND
Good understanding of needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language difficulties
A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Available full-time and able to start ASAP
