Maths Specialist Learning Support Assistant - Full-Time (5 Days per Week)
Location: Croydon | Secondary School | Immediate / Upcoming Start
We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Maths Specialist Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Croydon on a full-time, five days per week basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in mathematics who is passionate about supporting students and helping them build confidence and success in the subject.
The Role
As a Maths Specialist LSA, you will work closely with the Maths department and classroom teachers to support students in lessons, provide targeted academic assistance, and help learners overcome barriers to understanding mathematics. You will support both small groups and individual students, contributing to a positive and productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide in-class support during Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5)
Deliver small group and one-to-one support to students who require additional help in mathematics
Assist teachers in preparing resources and reinforcing lesson content
Help students build confidence, problem-solving skills, and engagement in maths
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, or similar role in a secondary school
Strong knowledge of mathematics and confidence supporting the subject at secondary level
A degree in Mathematics or a related subject is preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, supportive, and passionate about helping young people succeed
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
