Learning Support Assistant - Full-Time (5 Days per Week)
Location: Secondary Schools across Merton

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Merton on a full-time, five-days-per-week basis. The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to support students both in and outside the classroom. You will assist pupils who require additional support with their learning, helping them engage with the curriculum and build confidence in their abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting students with additional learning needs within the classroom

  • Assisting teachers in delivering lessons and adapting materials where required

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support

  • Encouraging student participation, confidence, and independence

  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

  • Supporting behaviour management and maintaining a positive learning environment

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or similar role in a school setting

  • Strong subject knowledge, with the ability to support learning at secondary level

  • A degree is preferred

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A patient, proactive, and supportive approach

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people in their education
