SANZA Teaching are currently recruiting for behaviour mentors for a school in Newham. The school supports students who cannot attend mainstream school due to SEMH (social, emotional, mental health needs).

About the role:


As a behaviour mentor, you will work closely with vulnerable students who need support with their learning, as well as behaviour support. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping students develop strategies to manage their behaviour and succeed both in and out of the classroom.

About you:

  • You will need strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patience, resilience, and empathy
  • Experience as a behaviour mentor/experience working with children or young people, ideally in a similar SEMH/pupil referral unit setting
  • Be able to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
  • Be confident in de-escalating challenging behaviour
