Science Technician - Full-Time (5 Days per Week)
Location: Lewisham, South East London

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in science and prior school-based technician experience, who is eager to play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning.

The Role:
As a Science Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the science department across Key Stages 3-5. You will work closely with teaching staff to prepare practical lessons, maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure a safe and efficient working environment for both staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for science lessons

  • Assisting teachers during practical sessions where required

  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring it is in good working order

  • Managing stock, ordering supplies, and organising resources

  • Ensuring all health and safety regulations are strictly followed

  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the science department

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a secondary school

  • Strong knowledge across one or more scientific disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)

  • A relevant degree is preferred

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

  • A proactive and reliable approach to work

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
