Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a passionate and committed Drama Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in the Corby area. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented teacher to become part of a supportive and forward-thinking school that values creativity, performance, and student engagement.
This role is suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are looking to develop their skills in a positive and well-structured environment. The position is available on a long-term supply basis with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for suitably experienced applicants. You will be expected to plan engaging lessons, encourage creativity and confidence in students, and contribute to the wider life of the school, including performances, productions, and extracurricular activities where possible.
You will be joining a welcoming department with supportive leadership and access to good resources. The school has a strong focus on student wellbeing, high expectations, and inclusive teaching practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging Drama lessons in line with the national curriculum
Inspire students to develop confidence, creativity, and performance skills
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively
Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
Contribute to school productions, performances, and enrichment activities
Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and wider school
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching Drama in a UK secondary school setting
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for the performing arts
The ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities
Excellent classroom management skills
A positive, flexible, and professional approach
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
