Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic English Teacher with the ability to teach Drama to join a welcoming secondary school in the Corby area. This is a fantastic opportunity for an English specialist who has a passion for the performing arts and would like to contribute to both the English and Drama curriculum within a supportive school environment.

This role is suitable for experienced teachers as well as Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are looking to develop their teaching across both subjects. The position is available on a long-term supply basis with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role:
The successful candidate will primarily teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to deliver Drama lessons where required. The school is looking for a teacher who can inspire students through creative and engaging teaching, and who is confident using drama techniques to support learning, confidence, and communication skills.

You will be joining a supportive department with strong leadership and a collaborative staff team. The school values creativity, high expectations, and inclusive teaching, and encourages staff to contribute to the wider life of the school, including productions, performances, and enrichment activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Teach Drama lessons as part of the timetable where required

  • Use creative teaching strategies to support student engagement and progress

  • Assess, monitor, and track student achievement

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management

  • Support extracurricular activities, including school productions where possible

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in both English and Performing Arts

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school

  • Ability or willingness to teach Drama

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • A passion for creative teaching and student development

  • A flexible and positive approach to teaching

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
