Unqualified English Teacher - Northampton
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Start Date: April or September 2026
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term (with potential to become permanent)
Salary: £100-£160 per day (depending on experience and level of school support)

We are partnering with a well-regarded secondary school in Northampton that is seeking a committed Unqualified English Teacher to join their English department from April or September 2026. This role is ideal for graduates or aspiring teachers who are keen to develop their skills and take the first steps into education.

The Role:

  • Deliver structured and engaging English lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Support pupils in developing their literacy, comprehension, and analytical abilities
  • Encourage students to engage with a wide range of texts and build confidence in their writing
  • Maintain a focused and positive classroom environment
  • Tailor your approach to support students with varying abilities and learning needs
  • Work closely with experienced teachers to develop your classroom practice
  • Contribute to departmental activities and the wider school community

About You:

  • A degree in English, Literature, or a related subject, or strong subject knowledge
  • Experience working with young people is advantageous but not essential
  • Confident communicator with the ability to lead and engage a classroom
  • Organised, adaptable, and willing to learn
  • Passionate about education and interested in progressing into teaching
  • Considering future routes such as PGCE, SCITT, or teacher apprenticeships
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to apply for one
