Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire

Contract Type: Full-Time - Permanent or Long-Term
Salary: MPS/UPS - Dependent on Experience

We are partnering with a well-regarded secondary school in Northampton that is looking to appoint a dedicated Music Teacher from April or September 2026. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive department and play a key role in delivering a rich and engaging music curriculum.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Music lessons across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 teaching available
  • Teach a range of topics including performance, composition, and music appreciation
  • Incorporate instruments and music technology to enhance student learning
  • Support students in their preparation for GCSE Music and other assessments
  • Lead or assist with extra-curricular activities such as bands, choirs, and productions
  • Contribute to school concerts, showcases, and wider events
  • Create a positive classroom environment that supports creativity and student confidence

Who We're Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or QTLS) with a specialism in Music
  • Strong subject knowledge across different musical styles and disciplines
  • Confidence in using music technology such as GarageBand, Logic Pro, Ableton, or Sibelius
  • The ability to engage and motivate students with varied abilities
  • Effective classroom management and organisational skills
  • A team player who is keen to contribute to the wider school community
  • Suitable for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers
