HR Officer - Secondary Schools (Lewisham) | Full-Time | 5 Days per Week

The Role
As HR Officer, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality HR service across the school. You will work closely with senior leadership and staff to ensure best practice across all HR functions, supporting both operational and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, and leavers
  • Providing expert advice on HR policies, procedures, and employment law
  • Supporting absence management, performance management, and staff wellbeing initiatives
  • Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring compliance with safeguarding and statutory requirements
  • Assisting with disciplinary, grievance, and capability processes
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of HR systems and practices

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an HR role (essential), ideally within an educational setting
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment legislation
  • A degree is preferred (HR, Business, or related field)
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion
