Year 2 Teacher - Leigh

Position: Key Stage 1 Teacher (Year 2)

Location: Leigh

Duration: Full-time until July 2026

Salary: £160 - £210 per day

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Leigh. This is a full-time teaching position, covering a gap in the staffing structure until the end of the summer term in July 2026.

The Role

As the Year 2 Class Teacher, you will take full teaching responsibilities for a bright and engaged cohort. Your focus will be on maintaining high standards of learning and ensuring students are well-prepared for their transition into Key Stage 2.

Your responsibilities will include:

Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons that align with the KS1 National Curriculum.

Using assessment data to track pupil progress and identify areas for intervention.

Managing classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive and productive learning environment.

Working closely with a full-time Teaching Assistant to support pupils of all abilities, including those with SEN.

Attending staff meetings and engaging with parents/carers regarding pupil development.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (Year 2 experience is highly desirable).

Strong classroom management skills and a passion for student progress.

Ability to commit to a full-time role until the end of the academic year.

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
