General Teaching Assistant

Are you a proactive and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a vibrant Year 6 classroom?

A friendly and high-achieving primary school in Wigan is seeking an enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 2 team. As Year 6 transition into their final term and prepare for the next stage of their education, we are looking for someone who can provide high-quality academic support and foster a positive learning environment.

The Role

Supporting the Class Teacher with the delivery of the curriculum.

Leading small group interventions in English and Maths.

Providing 1:1 support for students who require additional guidance.

Assisting with SATs preparation and classroom management.

Encouraging student engagement and boosting confidence during a pivotal school year.

What We Are Looking For-

Previous experience working within a primary school setting (KS2 experience is a plus).

A strong grasp of literacy and numeracy.

The ability to build rapport quickly with students, staff, and parents.

A patient, resilient, and "can-do" attitude.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

Level 2 or above teaching assistant qualification

Legal right to work in the UK
