Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in South Ribble. This is a full-time maternity cover position starting in September 2026. The school is looking for someone who can confidently lead a Year 5 class and provide continuity during this important stage of learning.

The Role

As the Year 5 Class Teacher, you will play a key role in developing pupils' independence, resilience, and academic progress as they prepare for Year 6.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to Year 5 learners.
• Assessing pupil progress and implementing targeted interventions where needed.
• Creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and participation.
• Working collaboratively with the KS2 team and support staff.
• Maintaining clear and effective communication with parents and carers.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 5 experience desirable).
• Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment strategies.
• Excellent classroom management and a nurturing teaching approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• Professional references.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
