We are working in partnership with progressive and well-supported schools seeking a dedicated Second in Maths to support the Head of Department in delivering outstanding teaching and learning from September 2026. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher looking to develop their leadership skills in a collaborative and ambitious environment.
Role Overview:
- Support the Head of Maths in leading and developing the department
- Teach Maths across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach A-Level Maths in some settings
- Assist with curriculum planning, ensuring high-quality, engaging, and challenging lessons
- Monitor student progress and attainment, implementing strategies to raise achievement
- Lead on specific areas such as assessment, intervention, or curriculum development
- Support and mentor colleagues, including Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
- Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as Maths clubs, competitions, and whole-school initiatives
Who You Are:
- A qualified Maths teacher (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) with strong subject expertise
- An experienced classroom practitioner with a track record of strong student outcomes
- Passionate about Maths education and committed to continuous improvement
- Confident in supporting departmental leadership and driving high standards
- An effective communicator and team player who can motivate and support colleagues
- Keen to progress into or further develop within a leadership role
