We are working in partnership with a high-performing secondary school in Northampton seeking a motivated Deputy Head of Maths to work closely with the Head of Department from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or current middle leader looking to broaden their leadership experience within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Role Responsibilities:

Work alongside the Head of Maths to lead, develop, and implement departmental strategy
Deliver high-quality Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4, with potential for KS5 teaching
Take a lead role in areas such as curriculum design, assessment, or quality of teaching and learning
Analyse performance data to identify trends and implement targeted interventions
Support the development of staff through coaching, mentoring, and sharing best practice
Help drive a culture of high expectations, engagement, and academic success
Contribute to whole-school priorities and cross-curricular initiatives

About You:

A qualified Maths teacher (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) with strong subject knowledge
Proven success in the classroom with a focus on raising attainment
Experience or readiness to take on a leadership role within a department
A reflective practitioner with a commitment to continuous improvement
Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
A collaborative approach and a genuine enthusiasm for Maths education
