Are you a Teaching Assistant with SEND experience, or do you come from a care background?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Oldham. This is a full-time, long-term position, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with complex needs, physical disabilities, and additional special educational needs, making a genuine difference in their educational journey.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students
  • Support pupils with complex needs and physical disabilities
  • Work closely with teachers to help students access learning and achieve their potential
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
  • Promote student wellbeing and safeguarding at all times
  • Contribute to the wider school environment and support strategies

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have experience as a Teaching Assistant, or within a care/support role
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Be able to build strong, positive relationships with students and colleagues
  • Have a caring, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Hold a valid child-only DBS (or be willing to obtain one)
