Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEMH school in the Corby area.

The Role:

As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students who face a range of emotional and behavioural challenges. You will work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
  • Support pupils in managing emotions, behaviour, and engagement with learning
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and safeguarding teams

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or mental health challenges
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
  • A background in education, psychology, youth work, or care is desirable
