Mental Health Support Worker (School Setting)

Support Young People's Mental Health in Education

Are you passionate about supporting young people's emotional wellbeing and mental health? We are currently recruiting a Mental Health Support Worker to work within school settings across the Corby area.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support, helping them to access education and develop the confidence to succeed.

About the Role:
As a Mental Health Support Worker in a school setting, you will support students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will work as part of a wider pastoral and safeguarding team to provide consistent, structured support throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with SEMH and additional needs

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group emotional support sessions

  • Support students in managing anxiety, behaviour, and emotional regulation

  • Assist with reintegration into mainstream lessons where appropriate

  • Work closely with safeguarding, SEN, and pastoral teams

  • Help create a calm, safe, and supportive school environment

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with young people or vulnerable individuals (education, care, youth work, or similar)

  • A calm, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Interest in mental health, psychology, or pastoral support

  • Ability to remain resilient in challenging situations

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
