Are you passionate about supporting young people's emotional wellbeing and mental health? We are currently recruiting a Mental Health Support Worker to work within school settings across the Corby area.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support, helping them to access education and develop the confidence to succeed.
About the Role:
As a Mental Health Support Worker in a school setting, you will support students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will work as part of a wider pastoral and safeguarding team to provide consistent, structured support throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted support to students with SEMH and additional needs
Deliver 1:1 and small group emotional support sessions
Support students in managing anxiety, behaviour, and emotional regulation
Assist with reintegration into mainstream lessons where appropriate
Work closely with safeguarding, SEN, and pastoral teams
Help create a calm, safe, and supportive school environment
What We're Looking For:
Experience working with young people or vulnerable individuals (education, care, youth work, or similar)
A calm, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Interest in mental health, psychology, or pastoral support
Ability to remain resilient in challenging situations
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
