Lead, inspire and nurture creativity as Head of Drama in a forward-thinking secondary setting.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic and enthusiastic practitioner with strong subject knowledge and the ability to motivate students of all abilities. You will lead engaging Drama lessons across Key Stages 3-5, encouraging confidence, collaboration and creativity while promoting high standards of achievement and participation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Drama department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
- Plan and deliver engaging Drama lessons across all key stages
- Develop schemes of work aligned with curriculum and examination requirements
- Inspire students through innovative teaching, performance opportunities and enrichment activities
- Organise and lead school productions, rehearsals and extra-curricular drama clubs
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies to support achievement
- Support and mentor colleagues within the department
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment
- Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school community

Who We're Looking For:
- A qualified teacher with QTS and a degree in Drama, Performing Arts or a related subject
- Proven experience teaching Drama in a secondary school setting
- Previous leadership experience or the ambition and capability to step into a leadership role
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- A creative and innovative approach to teaching and learning
- A commitment to inclusion, student wellbeing and raising achievement
- The energy, enthusiasm and vision to inspire young people through the arts
