Academic Tutor (After-School Support)
Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6 Weeks (Minimum)
Pay Rate: £30 - £40 per hour
Role Overview
Tradewind are seeking a dedicated and engaging Academic Tutor to support students within a school setting in Chorley. This role is ideal for an experienced educator or specialist tutor looking for consistent, high-impact afternoon sessions. You will be working with students to boost attainment and confidence in core subjects during a critical period of the academic year.
Working Hours (8 Hours Per Week)
This is a part-time, fixed-term position with the following schedule:
Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Friday: 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality 1:1 or small group tuition tailored to student needs.
Focus on core subject areas to help students bridge learning gaps.
Monitor student progress and provide brief feedback to the school's department lead.
Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment to build student confidence.
Requirements
Experience: Proven track record of tutoring or teaching within a school environment.
Subject Knowledge: Strong proficiency in English, Maths, or Science (KS3/KS4).
Communication: Ability to build quick rapport with students and staff.
Compliance: Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
Reliability: As this is a 6-week intervention, consistent attendance is vital.
