Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working with a successful secondary school in Northampton seeking an inspiring Head of Business Studies to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time opportunity, with the school ideally looking to appoint on a permanent basis, although fixed-term contracts or long-term supply arrangements will also be considered for the right candidate.

As Head of Business Studies, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering a high-quality, engaging curriculum across Key Stages 4 and 5. You will lead the development of the department, support teaching and learning initiatives, and inspire students to achieve their full potential in a subject that equips them with essential real-world skills and commercial understanding.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will contribute to raising standards, developing innovative curriculum strategies, and fostering a culture of high expectations and academic success. You will also support and mentor colleagues within the department, helping to drive continual improvement and positive outcomes for students.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Studies teacher seeking progression into leadership, or for an established Head of Department looking for a new challenge within a supportive and ambitious school environment.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold QTS and have experience teaching Business Studies across Key Stages 4 and 5
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for Business education
• Have a proven track record of delivering excellent classroom practice and improving student outcomes
• Possess excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
• Be committed to inclusive teaching, high standards, and continuous professional development
• Bring creativity, innovation, and strategic thinking to curriculum development
