FE Chemistry Teacher - Further Education | September Start

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic FE Chemistry Teacher to join one of our partner further education settings from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Chemistry specialist who is passionate about post-16 education and committed to helping students achieve their academic goals in a supportive and ambitious learning environment. The role involves teaching Chemistry to learners across further education pathways, supporting students in developing both theoretical understanding and practical laboratory skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-planned Chemistry lessons that inspire curiosity and deepen subject knowledge. You will work with students at varying stages of their educational journey, supporting them in preparation for examinations, progression to higher education, apprenticeships, or employment within science-related fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Chemistry within a further education setting
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons to post-16 learners
  • Support students with both theoretical and practical scientific learning
  • Deliver high-quality practical sessions in line with laboratory safety procedures
  • Assess, monitor, and track learner progress
  • Provide academic support to help students achieve qualification outcomes
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with wider science and curriculum teams

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or relevant teaching qualification
  • Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry
  • Experience teaching Chemistry at Key Stage 5 or within FE settings
  • Ability to deliver practical science confidently and safely
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Passion for post-16 education and learner progression
  • Ability to motivate and support students of varying academic abilities
