Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a dedicated and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) / Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and well-regarded 2-form entry primary school in Leyland from May Half Term 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring teachers, qualified Teaching Assistants, or Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain valuable classroom experience across different schools, year groups, and teaching responsibilities before securing a permanent role.

The role is varied, rewarding, and ideal for someone who enjoys both classroom support and leading learning independently.

The Role

  • Morning: Supporting teaching and learning as a Teaching Assistant within the classroom
  • Afternoon: Delivering lessons and covering classes across the school
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to raise pupil achievement
  • Creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting pupils across a range of year groups and abilities

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • HLTA status, Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or be an ECT
  • Experience working within a primary school setting

  • Strong classroom management skills
  • A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude
  • Passion for supporting children's learning and development
