KS2 Teaching Assistant

Full Time | September 2026 Start

SANZA Teaching Agency is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Islington, who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children's academic, social, and emotional development within a positive and supportive school environment.

The Role

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday
  • Working hours: 08:30am - 3:30pm
  • September 2026 start (or sooner for the right candidate)
  • Long-term role for the full academic year until July 2027
  • Supporting pupils across Key Stage 2
  • Providing both general classroom support and targeted support for pupils with SEND and mixed abilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils during lessons and independent learning activities
  • Delivering small group interventions in Literacy, Maths, and phonics where required
  • Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Adapting learning activities to support mixed-ability learners
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, and classroom engagement
  • Assisting the Class Teacher with classroom preparation and organisation
  • Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teaching staff
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

  • Has previous experience working within a primary school setting
  • Has strong experience supporting pupils within KS2
  • Has experience supporting children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, and speech and language needs
  • Is proactive, adaptable, and confident working with mixed-ability learners
  • Has excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential
