Part-Time Science Teacher - SEN Secondary Provision | Southwark | September Start (or sooner)

Are you a creative and enthusiastic Science Teacher looking to make a real difference in a specialist SEN setting? We are currently recruiting a Part-Time Science Teacher to join a highly supportive and therapeutic secondary SEN school in Southwark, working with students with a range of complex learning needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and engaging teacher who can bring Science to life through hands-on, creative, and sensory-based learning.

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging Science lessons at primary and foundation levels

  • Teach students with MLD, Autism, Down Syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy

  • Plan creative, practical, and sensory-based learning experiences (e.g. outdoor learning, experiments, gardening projects)

  • Support more able learners with potential progression towards GCSE Science

  • Work collaboratively with a supportive SEN team and therapists

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and highly engaging learning environment

Timetable:

  • Part-time: Monday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Thursday

  • Start date: September (earlier start possible)

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Has experience teaching Science within SEN or inclusive settings

  • Is creative, energetic, and highly engaging in their teaching style

  • Can adapt lessons to a wide range of learning abilities

  • Has strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing approach

  • Is passionate about making Science accessible and enjoyable for all learners
