We are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Kettering that is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant from September. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive school community, with a permanent position preferred, although long-term supply and fixed-term contracts will also be considered.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and is committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning. Whether you have previous school-based experience or are looking to build a career in education, this position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives.
The Role
Providing one-to-one and small group support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4
Supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs and learning difficulties
Working closely with class teachers to adapt learning activities and resources
Encouraging student engagement, confidence, independence and academic progress
Supporting positive behaviour and promoting emotional wellbeing throughout the school day
Assisting with interventions, classroom activities and pastoral support where required
Helping to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
Has a genuine passion for supporting secondary-aged students
Demonstrates patience, empathy and excellent communication skills
Can build positive relationships with students, staff and parents
Is reliable, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team
Experience within education, youth work, care or SEND support is desirable but not essential
Is committed to helping young people succeed both academically and personally
