We are working in partnership with a forward-thinking and supportive secondary school in Northampton that is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Science Teacher from September 2026. This is a full-time position available on either a permanent or fixed-term basis, depending on the successful candidate and the needs of the school.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative Science department where high expectations, teamwork, and student progress are central to daily practice.
About the Role
Deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 available in some settings
Plan and deliver well-structured lessons that develop scientific knowledge and curiosity
Use practical work and experiments to bring Science to life and deepen understanding
Assess and track student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and ongoing development within the Science department
Support enrichment opportunities such as STEM activities, science clubs, and educational visits
Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and improve outcomes
We're Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Science education
Ability to engage, challenge, and support students of all abilities
Confident classroom management skills and a calm, consistent approach
A proactive, team-oriented attitude towards school life
ECTs are very welcome to apply and will receive full induction and mentoring support
