Learning Support Assistant - Secondary School
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner for the right candidate)
Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in the Kettering area.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping students overcome barriers to learning. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and the SEND department to provide tailored support to students both inside and outside the classroom.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Support students with a range of additional learning needs and abilities.
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
Provide one-to-one and small-group interventions to help students achieve their potential.
Promote student independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
Support the implementation of individual learning plans and EHCPs where required.
Foster positive relationships that contribute to students' academic and personal development.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.
Be patient, adaptable, and able to build strong relationships with students.
Have an understanding of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.
Be committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant or Learning Support qualification (desirable but not essential).
