The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality English lessons

  • Inspiring a love of reading, writing, and literature

  • Monitoring and assessing student progress effectively

  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment

  • Supporting students to achieve their academic potential

  • Contributing to the wider life of the English department and school community

  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour and achievement

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is due to achieve it

  • Has experience teaching English at secondary level

  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for English

  • Can motivate and engage learners of all abilities

  • Has excellent classroom management skills

  • Is committed to raising attainment and delivering outstanding outcomes
