We are working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Northampton who are seeking a dedicated English Teacher for a September 2026 start. This is a full-time role offering both contract and permanent options, and would suit experienced teachers as well as Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop within a supportive environment.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 depending on experience)
  • Plan and deliver creative schemes of work that develop reading, writing, and analytical skills
  • Inspire a love of literature, exploring both classic and modern texts
  • Support learners of all abilities, including SEND and EAL students, through effective differentiation
  • Encourage discussion, critical thinking, and creative expression in the classroom
  • Assess, track, and provide feedback to support strong student progress
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives, literacy development, and enrichment opportunities such as clubs or wider school activities

Who We're Looking For:

  • Qualified English Teachers (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) with strong subject knowledge in Language and Literature
  • Teachers who can make English engaging, accessible, and relevant for all learners
  • Confident classroom practitioners with strong behaviour management and high expectations
  • Reflective professionals who enjoy working collaboratively and developing their practice
  • ECTs are warmly welcomed - full induction, mentoring, and support will be provided
