Job Description
Teaching Assistant - SEMH, Autism & ADHD Support
Silverstone & Surrounding Areas | September 2026 Start
Tradewind Recruitment
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? Do you have the patience, resilience, and enthusiasm to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential?
Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to work within specialist and mainstream schools across Silverstone and the surrounding areas, including Towcester, and Brackley
This rewarding role involves supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and Asperger's Syndrome. You may be providing 1:1 support, working with small intervention groups, or assisting teachers within the classroom to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils develop confidence, emotional regulation, social skills, and independence. You will support learning activities, encourage positive behaviour, and build strong relationships that help students feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
Due to the rural locations of many of our partner schools, candidates will ideally hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle. While not essential for every role, driving will significantly increase the range of opportunities available.
We welcome applications from experienced Teaching Assistants as well as individuals with transferable skills from backgrounds such as youth work, support work, care, coaching, mentoring, psychology, or social care.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience
- Be confident supporting pupils with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and associated needs
- Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Be able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
Tradewind Recruitment offers:
- Competitive rates of pay
- Access to free CPD and training opportunities
- Flexible full-time and part-time positions
- Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant
- Opportunities for long-term and permanent placements
If you're looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to the lives of young people, we'd love to hear from you.
