HLTA / Cover Lead - Reception to Year 6

  • Location: Blackpool (Excellent transport and parking links)

  • Pay: £120 - £135 per day

  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:45 - 15:30 (Term Time Only)

  • Contract: September 2026 - July 2027 (Full Academic Year)

We are partnering with a forward-thinking Primary Academy in Blackpool to recruit a strong Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or Cover Lead. This role offers the perfect balance of leadership and classroom presence across a vibrant two-form entry setting.

  • Level 3 TAs: If you have the confidence to lead a class, the Academy is willing to support and fund your HLTA training during the contract.

The Role: Classroom Leadership & PPA Cover

As the Academy's Cover Lead, you will be essential to the daily running of the school. Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Classroom: Independently delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 during PPA time and staff absence.

  • Literacy Support: Delivering the ReadWriteInc Phonics programme to boost reading confidence.

  • Targeted Interventions: Leading small group activities and adapting resources for pupils with diverse needs.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Must hold a Level 4 HLTA qualification, a relevant Degree, or QTS/ECT status.

  • Confidence: Proven ability to lead a whole class independently with strong behaviour management.

  • Commitment: Available for the full academic year from September 2026.

  • Compliance: Subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
