We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist educational setting in Rutland for a dedicated SEMH Cover Supervisor to join a supportive and rewarding school environment.

The Role

As an SEMH Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absences. You will help create a calm, positive, and structured environment where students feel supported and motivated to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities
✅ Manage classroom behaviour positively and effectively
✅ Build strong relationships with students and staff
✅ Support students with SEMH needs to engage in learning
✅ Encourage confidence, independence, and personal development
✅ Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For

✔ Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, care, youth work, or support settings
✔ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
✔ Confidence managing groups of students
✔ Patience, empathy, and resilience
✔ A proactive and adaptable approach to challenges
✔ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
