We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Specialist to join our team in Leicester from August 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning, develop positive behaviours, and achieve their full potential.

Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, families, and external agencies, you will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where every student can succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted behaviour support to students across a range of age groups and needs.
  • Develop and implement individual behaviour support plans.
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and emotional wellbeing.
  • Support teachers with behaviour management strategies and classroom interventions.
  • Monitor, record, and evaluate student progress and behavioural outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, safeguarding teams, and external professionals.
  • Promote restorative approaches and positive behaviour practices throughout the school.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural, emotional, or social needs.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and safeguarding practices.
  • Experience in education, youth work, social care, pastoral support, or a related field.
  • A commitment to inclusion, wellbeing, and student success.
