Tradewind Recruitment is working with a well-regarded secondary school in Northampton seeking a dedicated Religious Education Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time position, with the school ideally looking to appoint on a permanent basis, although fixed-term contracts and long-term supply arrangements will also be considered.

The successful candidate will teach Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. You will become part of a supportive Humanities department committed to delivering engaging, thought-provoking lessons that encourage students to develop their understanding of religion, ethics, philosophy, and contemporary issues.

The role will involve:

  • Teaching Religious Education across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 opportunities

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons that promote discussion, reflection, and critical thinking

  • Creating an inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident expressing their views respectfully

  • Supporting students of all abilities to achieve their full potential

  • Working collaboratively with the Humanities department to develop curriculum resources and share best practice

  • Encouraging students to develop an understanding of different beliefs, cultures, and moral perspectives

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold QTS/QTLS or an equivalent teaching qualification

  • Have strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Religious Education

  • Be confident managing behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment

  • Be committed to delivering inclusive, high-quality teaching and learning

  • Be suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
