SEN Support Teaching Assistant - Towcester (Primary School)

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Towcester that is seeking a dedicated SEN Support Teaching Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.

The Role

As an SEN Support Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the school
  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to implement individual learning plans and targeted support strategies
  • Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions to support progress in learning and development
  • Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Adapt learning materials and classroom activities to meet individual pupil requirements
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and relevant staff
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment for all pupils
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and external professionals where appropriate
  • Contribute to the wider school community and ethos of inclusion

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children with SEND in a school or educational setting
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, resilience, and a nurturing approach
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team
  • Can adapt flexibly to meet individual pupil needs
  • Has good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Holds relevant TA or SEND qualifications (desirable but not essential)
