We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive SEND school in Leicester for a Pastoral Support Worker to join their team from August 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who require additional emotional, behavioural, and social support, helping to create a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.

The Role

As a Pastoral Support Worker, you will:

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils across the school.
  • Support students with their emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development.
  • Work closely with teachers, SEND professionals, and families to provide consistent support.
  • Assist with behaviour management strategies and restorative approaches.
  • Help pupils regulate emotions and develop confidence, resilience, and independence.
  • Support students during lessons, break times, and enrichment activities where required.
  • Promote safeguarding and ensure the welfare of all pupils is always prioritised.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an education, SEND, youth work, care, or pastoral setting.
  • Is calm, patient, and able to build strong professional relationships.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can confidently manage challenging behaviour using positive strategies.
  • Is passionate about supporting vulnerable learners to achieve success.
  • Holds a relevant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Has an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
