Teaching Assistant
Location: Islington, North London
Salary: £95-£110 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full-time | Long-term | September 2026 Start
Tradewind Recruitment is excited to be working with a high-performing secondary school in Islington that is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join its successful support team.
The school is committed to providing an engaging and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve both academically and personally. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning while working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the SEND department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom support across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Deliver one-to-one support for students requiring additional academic assistance.
- Lead small group intervention sessions in English, Maths and Science.
- Support pupils with SEND including Autism, ADHD, dyslexia and speech and language needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour and reinforce school expectations.
- Help students develop confidence, independence and resilience.
- Support teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
- Build strong relationships with students, staff and parents where appropriate.
About You
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Calm, patient and adaptable approach.
- Passionate about education and supporting young people.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
