Graduate Teaching Assistant | Full-Time Opportunity | September 2026
An ambitious secondary school in Hammersmith and Fulham is recruiting a talented Teaching Assistant to join its team from September 2026. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, five days per week, for approximately one term, with a strong possibility of the placement being extended.
This position would suit a Russell Group graduate who is passionate about education and eager to gain practical school experience before pursuing teacher training or another career within the education sector.
The Opportunity
Working as a Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons while helping students build confidence, develop key skills and reach their academic goals. You will become an important part of the wider school community, providing both classroom and pastoral support where needed.
Main Duties
Provide academic support during lessons across a range of subjects.
Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
Help create an engaging, positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Prepare teaching resources and assist with lesson organisation.
Encourage positive behaviour and student participation.
Monitor progress and communicate observations with teaching staff.
Support pupils to become confident, independent learners.
Candidate Requirements
A degree from a Russell Group University is essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A proactive and professional approach to work.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
A genuine enthusiasm for helping young people succeed.
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
