Tradewind Education is looking for enthusiastic, reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to join our growing pool of supply staff, supporting a range of secondary partnership schools across Doncaster and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for flexible work, whether you are seeking day-to-day supply, short-term assignments or longer-term placements.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning when teachers are absent. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared work and ensure students remain engaged, focused and well behaved throughout the lesson.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor working through Tradewind Education, you may be offered:

• Day-to-day supply assignments to fit around your availability.
• Short-term placements across a range of secondary schools.
• Long-term assignments providing greater consistency and continuity.

• Experience working within a variety of secondary school environments.

Key Responsibilities

As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising students in the absence of their usual classroom teacher.
• Delivering and explaining pre-prepared lesson materials and activities.
• Ensuring students remain on task and engaged with their learning.
• Maintaining a positive, safe and productive classroom environment.
• Managing behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policies and expectations.
• Taking attendance and reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
• Providing appropriate support to students where required.
• Ensuring classroom resources and equipment are used appropriately.
• Following school policies and procedures at all times.
• Building positive and professional relationships with students and school staff.
• Providing feedback to the relevant teacher or department where appropriate.

Requirements

We are looking for Cover Supervisors who are:

• Confident and comfortable working with secondary-aged students.
• Able to manage classroom behaviour calmly and effectively.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Enthusiastic about supporting young people and their education.
• Able to communicate clearly with students and staff.
• Adaptable and confident working in different school environments.
• Able to follow lesson plans and school procedures effectively.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Ideally experienced in a school, education or youth setting, although applications from candidates with relevant transferable experience are welcome.

A degree or relevant qualification is desirable but not essential, depending on the role and school requirements.
