Chesham based schools are seeking Learning Support Assistant's with previous experience working with young people to provide consistent classroom and individual support. Opportunities are available across primary, secondary and specialist SEN provisions.
The Role
The position suits education professionals who enjoy working directly with pupils and want to play an important part in helping them access the curriculum.
You may be supporting a class teacher during lessons, working with a small group on a specific intervention or providing dedicated 1:1 assistance to a pupil who requires additional support.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils to access classroom learning.
- Working with teachers to reinforce lesson content.
- Delivering or assisting with small-group interventions.
- Providing 1:1 learning and pastoral support where required.
- Helping pupils develop independence and confidence.
- Supporting positive classroom behaviour.
- Adapting your approach to suit individual pupil needs.
- Communicating effectively with teaching and support colleagues.
- Following school policies and individual pupil support plans.
What Schools Are Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience working with children or young people.
- A reliable and professional approach.
- Strong communication skills.
- The ability to establish positive relationships with pupils.
- A commitment to safeguarding.
Desirable:
- Previous SEN experience.
- Experience working within a school or education setting.
- Experience delivering interventions or providing 1:1 support.
