You will work alongside experienced teaching staff and school leaders, gaining valuable experience in classroom delivery, behaviour management, student engagement, and supporting pupil progress.

These opportunities are particularly suitable for candidates considering a PGCE, SCITT, School Direct, or another teacher training route, while also providing the potential to secure a longer-term position within a school.

The Role

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Lead whole-class learning when covering for the regular classroom teacher.
  • Establish and maintain a calm, structured, and positive learning environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and consistently.
  • Encourage students to remain engaged, focused, and motivated.
  • Support pupils with their academic progress and personal development.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Work alongside qualified teachers and support staff to provide effective learning and pastoral support.
  • Adapt to different school environments and teaching requirements.
  • Contribute to the wider school community and participate in relevant training and development.

About You

  • Experience working with children or young people through education, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, youth work, or a similar setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident and comfortable taking responsibility for a classroom.
  • A positive, professional, and enthusiastic approach.
  • Good organisation, adaptability, and resilience.
  • The ability to establish positive relationships and maintain clear expectations.
  • A genuine interest in education and a desire to develop a career in teaching.
  • A reliable and committed team player who wants to make a difference to young people's lives.
