SEND Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Winsford on a full-time, long-term basis.

The successful candidate will work within the school's dedicated SEND Base, supporting pupils with profound learning difficulties (PMLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant who is committed to providing high-quality, individualised support and helping pupils achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Work closely with pupils with profound and complex learning needs and ASD.
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support in line with individual learning and development plans.
• Support pupils with their communication, social, emotional and educational development.
• Assist with the implementation of personalised learning activities and sensory-based provision.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SEND team and other professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent support.
• Support pupils throughout the school day, including during lessons, transitions and wider school activities.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining a calm, patient and nurturing approach.

To be considered for this role, we will need -

• Proof of Right to Work, this could be your Passport or Birth Certificate.
• A CV that covers 10 years of education or employment.
• A fully enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to process one with us. (We will refund the cost of the DBS)
