High Needs SEN Teaching Assistant - Sheffield

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a High Needs SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Sheffield, working on a supply basis.

The school is part of a well-established and highly regarded multi-academy trust, with a strong commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs and providing an inclusive learning environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting pupils with high needs SEN and is confident in providing both educational and pastoral support.

The Role

As a High Needs SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the school's SEN team to support pupils with a range of additional needs.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with high needs SEN.
• Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and reach their individual learning goals.
• Helping to manage behaviour and promote positive engagement in the classroom.
• Providing pastoral, emotional and practical support where required.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.
• Supporting pupils with developing their confidence, independence and social skills.
• Following individual support plans and contributing to a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with high needs SEN.
• Experience supporting pupils with complex learning, behavioural or additional needs.
• A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• The ability to build strong and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.

Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification are desirable, although relevant experience will also be considered.

Pay

The rate of pay for this position is £95-£120 per day, depending on experience and suitability for the role.

Candidates with strong, relevant experience working with high needs SEN, particularly those with a proven track record in supporting pupils with complex needs, may be considered towards the higher end of the pay range.

Please note that the final rate will be dependent on experience, qualifications, suitability for the role and the school's available budget.
