1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
NG10, Nottinghamshire | Full-Time | Immediate Start Available
Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of children with additional needs? We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the NG10 area.
This rewarding role involves providing individual support to a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), helping them to access learning, develop social skills, and achieve their full potential both inside and outside the classroom.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD and ADHD
- Support the child's academic, social, and emotional development
- Implement strategies to promote engagement and positive behaviour
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, or other additional needs
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to remain positive and proactive in challenging situations
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
- DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
